Swirling out of Hohomei (好好味)'s take-out window, is the sweet smell of hot buttered bread and consistently long, spiraling queue. Hot-out-the-oven buluo bao (菠蘿包) is the delicacy to die for at Hohomei.
Essentially, buluo bao is a a butter sandwich. A bite in, the crisp crust crumbles to give way to a warm, fluffy dough swathed in sweet butter. Appropriately, hohomei's trademark buluo bao is named binghuo (冰火): ''ice fire'' - referring to the contrasting temperatures of this baked delight.
