Tamsui Small White House
Taipei
Sights and Highlights
Located a stone's throw from the Red Fort, this lovely building is often overlooked by visitors to Tamsui. If you do take the time, though, you will not be disappointed. You can walk through the large, European-style garden and admire the lovely Spanish architecture of the small residence.
It served as the headquarters for the British presence in Taiwan. There is a great amount of period furniture on display, as well as an exhibition that gives an insight into the history of European involvement with Taiwan. If you're in Tamsui and in the mood for something a little off the beaten track, this is something for you.
