Wenchang Temple

Taipei

Parks, Temples and Gardens

Wenchang  Temple (文昌祠) is one of the most enchanting historic places in Taipei. It is a popular worship destination for students, artists and writers. The building is quite big and beautifully decorated with carved dragons and ornaments typically found in Taoist temples.

The temple has relatively long history and is dedicated to Wenchang Dijun, a Taoist deity who holds authority over education and culture. That's why students choose this particular place to offer lavish amounts of food and incents to ensure exam success as well as mastery of any subject.  Visiting this place might be a wonderful idea for anyone frustrated with learning Chinese!
