Yilan

The beautiful county of Yilan is on the Northeast coast of Taiwan. The name Yilan is attributed to the Kavalan aborigine tribe, who originally inhabited this mountainous terrain, bordered by the brilliantly navy Pacific Ocean. Yilan holds the allure of native Taiwanese history, captivating natural scenery and delicious local delicacies, found only on this part of the island.

There are a number of ways to enjoy the fresh outdoor air in Yilan. Wufengchi Waterfall (which translates to five humps) is one of the most frequented sites of Yilan. The scenic walk leads to a three waterfalls streaming between five mountains. Tofu Rock Beach is another famous outdoor attraction.

Places of Interest：

Jiuzhize Hot spring-Jiuzhize Hot spring (previous named 'Renze and renamed in 2004), locating on an altitude of 530 meters, is about 22 km away from Taipingshuan Villa. This place is surrounded by a scenic view of emerald green mountains and the winding Duowang River passes through. This is also a eco-friendly engineering exhibition and the Jiuzhize Trial which is popular for observing amphibians, bird and fish.

Yilan Dongshan River Cultural & Educational Tour (One-day tour)

Yilan National Center of Traditional Arts - Attractions at this center include century-old buildings, an elaborately carved opera stage, and a reproduction of a historic street. There are also facilities for cultural exhibitions and performances for visitors to experience the traditional arts and life of Taiwan.

Dongshan River Water Park - This water park o­n the Dongshan River is well equipped for riverside fun, with a winding river course, water ladders, and other facilities for water activities suitable for all ages. A major international children's festival and rowing contest are held here each summer.
